Ground.Zero Rocked!

Submitted by Pingspike on Wed, 2009-12-09 13:11

Well Ground.Zero totally rocked and we're all recovered and looking forward to the next awesome event.

Whilst network or power issues were expected, it turned out that software issues were our problem of choice. The server gave up on us so we were forced to play ad-hoc games using our own machines as the game hosts. In spite of this however, fun was had by all, even the pro Street Fighter 4 guys who happily pwnd everyone in the tournament and won some sweet prizes along the way. The rest of us read our CPU Magazines while we waited our turn, like calm lambs to the slaughter.

A big thank you to all our sponsors and Maddy's Pizza for the awesome pepperoni infusion we needed late night !

Special thank to:

Maddy's Pizza! Yey!

Dyer's Electronics (RadioShack)

Longhorn Steakhouse

Rumford House of Pizza

and A T&T of Auburn

We hope you guys enjoy your pizza/steak/clothes/subs and memory sticks!

Last chance for Ground.Zero LAN !

Submitted by Pingspike on Tue, 2009-12-01 22:18

Its almost LAN time and we're all ready to have a big ol' game fest at the Mexico Rec Center on Saturday and Sunday.

We'll be taking our machines too. We plan to frag excessively and drink Bawlz.

We have a huge array of prizes from gift cards to LLBean, Longhorn and others, to USB memory sticks and bluetooth headsets.

A quick reminder to anyone wanting to play or visit: if you plan to bring a computer or console, please remember to bring a network cable (Cat5 or better with RJ45 connectors) along with any required power and AV cables. We have a very limited supply of spare network cables so please remember these (as big as possible). If you're not sure if you have one, If you have a broadband internet connection, there's a good chance theres one connected to your cable modem or DSL modem.

If you know you wont have a network cable please contact us in advance either by using our Contact Page or email Support.

We will be accepting payments on the door, cash and checks only please. We can only accept card payments online.

Extreme Networks powered event!

Submitted by Pingspike on Tue, 2009-11-10 19:01

Its confirmed that our event will be powered by none other than network hardware gods Extreme Networks! Seriously these guys are the ferrari of the network arena used by ISPs and Datacenters and other big dogs. Our Summit switch will be here by Thursday at which time we will spend a few hours drooling over its royal purpleness, then I guess we'll have to set 'er up.
