Feb 5, 2008 - Carl Bloor - Permalink Having been established in 2002, Ageia has been trying hard to get into the gaming market in both software and hardware. It has over a hundred titles on board and numerous hardware deals to bundle their physics processors into machines. From a business perspective this deal obviously adds another weapon to the arsenal. The possible advances are clear given the more advanced micro technology of nVidia (reduced die size, process etc.) and their experience in getting graphics related hardware to the end users. This could be a very big deal. Being an end user like you, all I'm interested in is cool hardware solutions to real problems. Frankly I think nVidia already had/has plans in this area and this may simply be a move to safeguard against pesky patent disputes. Δ |
