Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook
On 14 June 2007 I sat down in front of my PC and started browsing Dells website. I wanted a laptop. Not just any laptop though. I wanted a good laptop. So I wrangled in Carl to help me chose the best features. We browsed, compared, then browsed again. Finally deciding the best laptop for my needs was a Inspiron 1501. One of the things I liked about the Dell website was the ability to chose a base package and then customize it to exactly what I wanted. My final cost was $779.00 before tax. Shipping was free. What I ended up with is;
AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-56 (1.80Ghz)
Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Basic
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA
1GB SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
120GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
ATI RADEON® Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory™ (Integrated)
Integrated Audio
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card (54Mbps)
I submitted my order and had an estimated ship date of 18 June 2007. My laptop was actually shipped on 21 June 2007 and delivered by DHL on 25 June 2007. 11 Days from ordering to receipt.
So after running out and nearly knocking the DHL delivery guy down, I ran into my apartment and ripped into the box. Well at least as fast as you can whilst taking pictures and documenting everything you do. I opened the box to find a handy little paper entitled Setting up your computer.
